Financial Secretary Paul Chan will depart for the US tomorrow to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Finance Ministers' Meeting on November 12 and 13, and attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on behalf of the Chief Executive from November 15 to 17.
The APEC sessions to be held in San Francisco will focus on three priorities: building a resilient and interconnected region that advances broad-based economic prosperity; enabling an innovative environment for a sustainable future; and affirming an equitable and inclusive future for all.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Mr Chan will have bilateral meetings with officials of other economies to exchange views on issues of mutual concern. He will also visit enterprises and meet the local business community.
Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Algernon Yau will also leave for San Francisco on November 14 to attend the Ministerial Meeting and related events that day to November 16.
Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong on November 19. During his absence, Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong will be Acting Secretary.
While Mr Yau will return to Hong Kong on November 18. Under Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Bernard Chan will be Acting Secretary during his absence.
