143 air purifiers meet specifications

A total of 143 air purifiers meet specified specifications for dine-in catering premises and the composite list was uploaded to the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department's webpage for reference by catering premises operators and ventilation works contractors, the Government announced today.   The working group on the requirement on air change or air purifiers in dine-in restaurants has completed perusal of the information on air purifiers received before the March 28 deadline.   Information on a number of individual forms was incomplete. The working group's secretariat has approached those submitters through emails and asked them to provide the missing information before 5pm on April 11.   The working group is also handling late submissions and will cease accepting late submissions from 5pm on April 11.   To comply with the requirements on air change or air purifiers in catering premises under the Prevention & Control of Disease (Requirements & Directions) (Business & Premises) Regulation, catering premises operators are required to register at the department's webpage on or before April 30 that the air change per hour at seating areas of their premises has reached six, or air purifiers that meet the specified specifications have been installed according to the on-the-ground situation, together with a certificate issued by a registered specialist contractor.   Catering premises completing the registration can, upon the department's confirmation, download a notice online for display at the premises' entrance.
